Our staff genuinely loves working with kids of all ages, from babies’ first dental appointments to providing orthodontic services to older children and teenagers. We know that working with children is different from working with adults, which is why our team always works at a kid-friendly pace to ensure that each child is totally comfortable in our care. Joanna Ayala, DMD
Pediatric Dentist, Board Certified Specialist
Dr. Ayala was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. She earned her Associates of Science degree from Blinn College in Brenham, TX and her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She continued her studies by receiving her dental degree from Boston University where she served as Class President and graduated Cum Laude. With her passion for children, Dr. Ayala continued her education at Miami Children’s Hospital and earned her specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry. Her training included many aspects of pediatric dentistry to include sedation and hospital dentistry. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Ayala is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association. Her practice is limited to infants, toddlers, children and adolescents. Dr. Ayala will provide excellent service in all aspects of pediatric dentistry in a caring, professional and personal manner.
Adam Bahr, DDS
Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Bahr was raised in Bountiful in a gigantic family, as he was the youngest of 15 children. After high school, he lived in south Texas for two years and fell in love with Texas, the food, and Spanish. While living in Texas, he decided he wanted to be a dentist. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 2011 with a BA in Spanish. Before dental school, he worked for a year in an elementary school with children learning English as a second language. He loves working with kids! He graduated from The University of Iowa with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2016. While in dental school, he served as class president, vice president of IASDA, the dental school student government, and president of the local student chapter of the Hispanic Dental Association. Dr. Bahr completed an externship during dental school in Granada, Spain. He continued his training in Alaska, working with Alaska natives, and received his specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry through NYU Langone. He loves exploring the outdoors with his wife, Corrie, and his family. Dr. Bahr misses the mountains and snow of Alaska and Utah but is excited about the great food here in Texas. His son Maxwell is excited to be a big brother soon. Dr. Bahr loves meeting families and kids in the office. Outside the office, he loves sports and spending time with family.
Catalina Zambrano, DDS
Board Certified Orthodontist
Dr. Catalina Zambrano grew up in Monterrey, Mexico, where her interest in orthodontics began when she was a little girl. Her dad is an Orthodontist and her mom is a Periodontist, both trained in Germany. Since a very young age, she has worked with them. Dr. Zambrano attended Tecnologico de Monterrey, where she received an exceptional dental education, obtaining her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and graduating at the top of her class. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Zambrano did a 1-year orthodontic internship program at UT Health San Antonio. Following this training, she was selected to attend the Orthodontic Residency at UT Health San Antonio, graduating with a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s in Science. During her residency, she obtained first place recognition for her Dental Research at the Annual UTHSCSA School of Dentistry Dental Science Symposium. She completed the written part of the American Board of Orthodontics in April of 2018. She is an active member of many leading dental and orthodontic organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Texas Dental Association (TDA). Improving the smiles of patients is what motivates Dr. Zambrano in the field of orthodontics. Her ultimate goal is to help patients achieve a smile that inspires confidence and pride. Dr. Zambrano is married to her husband, Mauricio De Hoyos, who is involved in the recycling business. They have a corgi named Luna. When not in the office, Dr. Zambrano enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, cooking, hiking, and traveling.
Jennifer Hole, DDS
General Dentist
“Dr. Jennifer Hole is a San Antonio native, born and raised in the Alamo Heights area. She attended the honors program at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she double majored in biology and chemistry. Upon being awarded the Bush-Jones Sprenger Scholarship for Leadership and Academic Excellence, she attended the Baylor College of Dentistry, where she graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2012. During her time at Baylor, Dr. Hole was involved in many leadership positions, including student council class representative, philanthropy chair, student consultant for Admissions Committee, and mentor for the summer pre-enrichment program for prospective students. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and enjoys volunteering at community events. Dr. Hole lives in the neighborhood where she grew up with her husband, Dr. Steven Hole, who is a Captain in the United States Army. They have two children together, a daughter, Riley, who is two years old and a son, Everett, who turned one this past May. While life with two kids can get busy, in her free time she enjoys cooking, crafting, and running!”
